Penny Pinching 101

Everyone pinches pennies, it's just that some people are "tighter" than others.  If you are new to penny pinching, here are a few basics that every seasoned tightwad will agree are "no-brainers" when trying to save money:

Penny Pinching in the Garden - Use layers of old newspaper under your mulch.  It allows the water to drain through and prevents weeds from poking through!  This will save you a bundle compared to the rolls of weed blocker some people use!

A gift that keeps on giving - Next time you get roses, hang them upside-down just as they begin to wilt.  Once they are thoroughly dry, cut the stems and display them in a vase.  Don't forget to save the baby's breath to add to your arrangement.  Some gift shops charge top dollar for dried flower arrangements!

 ***************** NEW! Small Business Directory*****************

Tri Cities Penny Pincher Supports Local Small Businesses!  I know how difficult and EXPENSIVE it can be to get the word out about your business, especially on the internet.  That is why I have decided to host a directory of small businesses.  For $4.99 a month, you can list your business.  That's an unheard of $59.88 a year...less than the cost of just ONE MONTH of advertising on other directories! ALL listings include your logo, up to 4 photos, up to 5 different categories, address (With a map), phone numbers, hours of operation, a couple paragraphs about your company AND links to your website!  Tri Cities Penny Pincher gets the majority of its web traffic from local consumers, so get your business listed today!
More Information is available here.

Tri Cities Penny Pincher is here to help people learn how to get the most out of their hard-earned dollars.  I have provided a community forum so you can share YOUR ideas, tips and recipes.  I also publish a weekly newsletter right here on the site that highlights free things to do in the area, penny pinching tips, local sales and much more!

If you like to shop online, check out my Favorite Links.  I have picked some of the best links to get good deals on just about anything!

Save even more money by looking at the local sale papers so you can plan out your shopping trips!  Since my kids live in Atlanta and my brothers & sisters live in Chicago, I have provided links to their local markets too!  If you would like to see your area listed, just shoot me an e-mail and I will hook you up as soon as I can.  Everything on my site is FREE and I work for FREE so be sure to visit often and tell all of your friends!

Help support the Tri Cities Penny Pincher by visiting often, telling all of your friends and getting involved in the community forum.

Thanks a bunch!  Stacey :)
